For the benefit of the company, now they suck ass and train.

The Target: The request made to project managers to get empowered to operate
and clean the machines was another big provocation, especially for me upon
completing two years of employment in the company. The
department manager, Natacha Carniol, requested me and some new comers to get
empowered to operate all the processing machines within three months, in order
to be able to help the technicians when they need extra hands for running the
trials and even replace them when they are absent. Amazingly, this request was
made during the annual evaluation and it was set as objective for the current
year.
Mr Benoualid: Why you find this training inappropriate for managers?
The Target: This objective set for the project managers is a big
provocation. It aims to change our role, our tasks defined in our contracts and
deteriorate the working conditions, including change of working hours for me, as I was the
only one expected to be at work at 8 o’ clock for attending that inappropriate
for managers training. The description of the role of project manager does not
imply that we have to replace the technicians when they are unavailable. My
contract states clearly my role. It is unacceptable and illegal that I
have been asked as annual objective for my evaluation to work as operator. The
machines are run by technicians who use certain softwares and press buttons. During
the training at the internal mixer I was taught which buttons I had to press
and I was even asked to make the cleaning. It is not just demonstration of how
a machine works but an illegal demand to get a certificate for operating and
even cleaning the machines upon being assessed by a technician, while I am
expected to keep working as project manager implementing all the relevant tasks.
You impose me, thus, to work in two posts, while my salary is kept down.
Mr Benoualid: No, No. That training for obtaining a certificate is not illegal
since it is for the benefit of the company. The director, Nicolas Garois,
claimed that the managers need to know the work of the technicians for being
capable of assessing their work. If for the advancement of the projects extra
hands are needed, then you have to accept an increase in your tasks and get
more responsibilities. Since it’s for the benefit of the company, it’s not
illegal.
The Target: Does Mr Garois know the office tasks in
R&D for being capable of assessing the work of the managers? Has he
obtained any academic certificate? He promotes technicians without academic
degrees to managers and demotes the highly qualified employees to operators
seeking maybe to get kind of revenge because he was in the past technician? He
wants us to know his previous tasks, how the technicians work? Mrs Carniol told
me that Mr Garois had asked many times why the managers work in their offices
and are not in the lab running the machines together with the technicians. If
you want the managers to get involved in troubleshooting, which of course is
agreeable to us, then you need to provide remote process
control facilities and train us on how to use design
softwares and not on how to clean the machines. A company which wants to
be called progressive must employ state of the art processes and softwares,
including remote process control for empowering the managers to monitor the
processing machines from their offices. Mr Garois had claimed that the only
thing we need is a paper and a pen. This is where the innovation is based on? I agree to attend some trials for my projects when
I deem necessary but it is unacceptable to be imposed to work as operator at
the machines starting work at 8.
Mr Benoualid: Staying in the office waiting for results of trials isn’t it
boring? I find logical to question why the managers are not all the time
together with the operators at the machines.
The Target: Defining the strategy for the advancement of the
projects, the scientific approach to be followed, thinking of novel solutions,
innovative formulations, design of trials, analysis of the results, reflection
on the projects, on how to tackle various problems by proposing solutions
founded scientifically and technologically, literature review, search of
products and suppliers, writing reports, preparing presentations, is a work a
manager has to do during manipulation of the machines?
Mr Benoualid: NO, no, it is not inappropriate training. I find it an essential
hands-on learning, which aims to maximize the productivity and
benefit the company.
The Target: Mr Benoualid, essential training courses as the one of elastomers
which Hutchinson requests to all employees to undertake, including managers and
technicians at the beginning of their employment has not yet been offered to me
despite the numerous requests made over the last two years. Everything related
to the role of manager has been cancelled for me but any unjustified demotion
aiming to weaken my morale has been well fixed. Indeed, I was expected to be at
work at 8 o clock and Mrs Carniol accused me wrongly to the director as well as
to human resources of refusing attending the training.
Mr Benoualid: Indeed, she reported that she forced you to go to work
at the machine as you were unwilling to attend the training. You must respect
the professional training and honor the commitment for the benefit of the
company.
The Target: This is another exasperating lie. She wrongly accused
me of being unwilling to attend the training and she reported that she obliged
me to go to the lab when in reality I was preparing to go to the mixer wearing
the protection clothes. I did not refuse to attend any training. The e-mails I
exchanged with the technician regarding the planification of the training were
forwarded to the director and HR as evidences. I understand well that Mrs
Carniol really wanted me to refuse to work at the machines in order to accuse
me of refusing a training designed for the benefit of the company. I did not
refuse it, but I do contest the request made to project managers to learn how
to press the buttons of the machines and make a proper and thorough cleaning
which changes illegally their role to operators.
Mr
Benoualid: Mrs Carniol
reported that you failed to be present at 8 o’clock for the training as you had
arranged making the technician waiting for you. This accusation has been deemed
very serious. You demonstrated a gross misconduct.
The Target: First of all, there was no appointment fixed at 8
o’clock. She entered my office at 9 being furious while I was wearing the
protective clothing for going to the mixer. She yelled at me hitting her hand
on the table because I was not at the machine at 8, indeed when the previous
day I was asked to leave the company without any reason, without having any
prior interview with HR and without having received any disciplinary letter in
the past contrarily to the regulations. Initially HR manager Pauline Branger
asked me out of the blue to go to another department to work in a field
irrelevant to my expertise, experience and interest, indeed in the post of a
technician for getting involved in experiments in the lab using toxic chemicals.
The week after she demanded me to quit the company, amazingly within a month,
again without letting me know any reason, without having any formal meeting for
informing me about the alleged misconduct. When I told Mrs Carniol that I went
to see earlier in the morning Mrs Branger, who had asked me just the
previous day to leave the company, Mrs Carniol replied to me brutally: « You do
not need to see her since you saw her yesterday. Pauline communicated to us
that you do not quit the department tomorrow. Shall you leave? No!! So, go and
work to the machines now!!!! " She amazingly threatened me that she would
report to the director my unacceptable attitude and indeed, she later reproached me in a nasty e-mail she sent to Mr
Garois for my unacceptable misconduct. She wrote that I do not follow the
rules, although I had communicated to her clearly earlier in my office that I
had not fixed the time for that training and that for other trainings the
starting time was flexible. Another training for which I was asked to be at
work at 8 had been held with two hours retard as we were waiting the delayed
trainees to gather, so as to attend all together this brainstorming session.
But, of course, no problem was reported and no reproach was made to delayed
trainees that time. Regarding the training in mixer I
had to clean the machine during the lunch time in order to find time to meet
Mrs Branger at the afternoon to remind her the articles of the labour code
concerning the moral harassment and the penalties for offenders for which by the way
she never informed me contrarily to the law. Mrs Branger got for first time terrified. Although the facts which
define the moral harassment had been well reported earlier by me, she ignored
them, until I pronounced those two magic words, moral harassment, which made to
her difference.
Mr Benoualid: No, no. We refuse your moral harassment claims. No,
there is no such thing. Everything is for the benefit of the company. So, you
have to assent to your superiors without question. It is not in your
jurisdiction to judge the necessity of a training. If you want to belong to a
company you must do what your boss asks you without question. Just do it. If
there is no pain, there is no gain.
The Target: and you suck ass and train.

Hutchinson SA- The office chair: humped & lame before going to beach

The Target: Apart from the lighting issue, I have experienced much discomfort also with the defective office chair I’ve been given. It leans paradoxically forward, not allowing me to rest my back.
Mr Benoualid: If you want more comfort why don’t you place a pillow at
your back? The company’s office furniture had been bought many years ago. How employees
could use the chair in the past? Their back differs than yours?
The Target: My back is normal, defective is the chair, unless it was
designed or adapted deliberately that way for keeping the employee restless. It
is indeed to question why this chair has not been thrown away as being defective.
I don’t know if it has been used by others. I believe that this chair has been
kept in the company for a reason. I did not rush to complain about it, but other
employees being aware of its status asked me if it accommodates me well. Indeed,
the issue has been escalated recently, as somebody unscrewed a roller of the
chair and now the chair is not only humped, but also lame.
Mr Benoualid: Did you ask replacement?
The Target: I was told that I could order only a plastic one, but I
would be the only project manager having a cheap chair, while the others, including
even technicians, would have the old luxurious wooden chairs and this could be considered
as less favourable treatment. I understand that the company’s revenue does not allow
to buy new luxurious chairs. But I would prefer a low-cost plastic chair with proper
back than a wooden chair with broken back and roller.
Mr Benoualid: Indeed, we can not afford to buy new office wooden furniture
and if we would order a wooden chair only for you we would get complaints by
the others who would also ask replacement of their old chairs. Then you would
be benefited by more favourable treatment. Did you ask if there is a spare
chair in any other department which you could transfer to your office?
The Target: I sent numerous emails to the responsible security manager of
the research centre notifying my issue and kindly asking a replacement, but she
ignored all my requests. A technician told me that it is probably the
department manager, Natacha Carniol, who does not allow the replacement wishing
to cause me discomfort. Does the security and health team along with the
management aim to cause me hump or back pain? Is their corporate mission to compromise
the physical status of the employees? Finally, a technician came to my office
to replace the lame chair in order to “avoid an accident in the workplace” as
he told me. He replaced it with another wooden chair which is actually a swing with
its back leaning now much backwards! I can not sit in proper position up or
forward in order to be able to work. I have to press the chair’s arms below the
desk in order to stay up, being fixed close to the desk.
Mr Benoualid: So, the issue has been solved, but now you complain because
the replacement chair allows you to relax back while the previous was keeping
you forward?
The Target: Mr Benoualid, I prefer having a plastic standard office
chair which can allow me to work staying up, than a wooden humped and lame or
beach chair. Such practices are great provocation, indeed being supported by a
service called “health and security”! Only autistic kids could find joy by
causing such inconvenience to others. I asked the security department to have
another chair even a plastic one, but they keep ignoring my requests. They do
not process an order. I also asked to have the humped and lame chair back as I prefer
it, but it has been disappeared. It is probably kept somewhere for getting offered
in the future to another victim.
Mr Benoualid: No, no. We refuse that this is an intentional inconvenience
or mistreatment. In work you need to compromise. If you have at home a chair which
accommodates you better, then you are free to bring it to work or you can wait
to use it in the near future at home.

Le but de ces centres est simplement de briser le moral des candidats avec ces tests et autre maltraitance. Ils peuvent même leur demander l'impossible dans leur tentative de les mettre bas. C'est une honte qu'il n'y ait pas de loi pour interdire ces centres de harcèlement qui alimentent le secteur des ressources humaines. En effet, par ces tests QI sont expulsés ceux qui obtiennent des scores élevés car les idiots et patrons craintifs gouvernent les entreprises.
Conseils aux nouveaux diplômés qui sont invités à participer à ces centres de harcèlement: Ils ne vous respectent pas, mais vous devez respecter vous-même en refusant d'y assister. Ne pas nourrir les crétins et les permettre de vous abuser. Ils sont tous pitoyables!
Can you please identify the companies which dare to ask even the experienced/confirmed professionals, indeed internal candidates (within a corporate Group) with heavy academic degrees and proven track record of top performance to participate in their stupid simulation of kindergarten stating that the human IQ changes every two years and as a consequence the older IQ-assessment or harassment test scores are outdated?
To this global shame one should also add the non-sensible step in the recruitment process of fresh graduates based on ridiculous harassment (or assessment) centres where HR representatives mess with candidates. Engineers and scientists are called to feed that sector of unqualified dumb people, the so-called human resources HR by playing stupid role games and filling puzzles as they are in a kindergarten and thus getting their nerves irritated. Yes, those people who have been seriously assessed by universities and have been awarded academic degrees upon having demonstrated high-level analytical and problem solving skills, those who have even published part of their academic research are called to feed that dump-sector of “human resources” who do nothing but sucking. Even the principles of lean according to which "we do not throw away waste but we can take resources and use them elsewhere where they can add value" can not apply. HR does not add any value but kill the values, the fake inapplicable values which they display in their corporate websites. HR fed by those career or harassment/assessment centres is a waste, their salaries should be invested elsewhere and they should go to educate themselves.
They also give to candidates to drink 11 bottles of Red Bull to get wings and pass the test. Times change, imbecility remains the same.
A fucktion “variable” from the Middle Ages could come back adapted and applied for the candidates with heavy degrees. The candidates are asked to take off their shoes, HR smear the sole of their feet with Vaseline and ask them to stand all together on a burning hot metal plate. Then the managers start to play instrumental music. Those who jump high and stay in the air or fly would “pass” the test, the others who just move their legs up and down are burnt while offering an amusement to the managers. Stable value! If it is already applied by any multinational company please feel free to share your dancing experience with us.
Revealing is also the response of a HR supervisor of an
“assessment centre” of a big multinational company to a remark of an engineer
candidate on the impossible task asked. It is a worthy quote. Candidate: “Some
data were lacking in the problems you asked to solve in very short time, there
was a need to make an assumption or use variables for solving the problem, but
you wanted only to submit a number in the box as a result.”
HR: “Yes, I know, I know, as other candidates told me as
well, but as I explained to you at the beginning, I do not check your
calculations, I do not want the paper with the calculations but only one number
in the box. Nothing else fits in the box. You think there has been a mistake?
No, the problems have been well checked by the managers. I know, I understood,
I understood, what I do not understand is why they call you here if they do not
want you. I know those who call you have one or none degree, but you have more and heavier,
that is why. I am not supposed to say that to you but go and tell it to
others, so as not to come.” This was the feedback the supervisor gave having an expression of
disgust, mumbling at the end "it's shame" while accompanying the
candidate at the exit.
Then the managers say that “even seniors fail to those
tests” or “what is this disobedience”.
What an ugliness we are witnesses of…It is all about a
fucktion with many variables. Their complexes are constants. You need to fit
“in the box” and not think outside of it.
It is also noteworthy the reply of the TOTAL’s hiring technical manager and HR to the experienced candidate that she/he “must respect their recruitment stages and accept to attend the assessment centre if they want to be considered for a job in the company”, “What is this disobedience?” NO, WE DO NOT HAVE TO RESPECT THEIR HARASSMENT VALUES AND THEIR ABUSIVE STRATEGY BUT THEY MUST RESPECT THE CANDIDATES WITH UNIVERSITY DEGREES. NO RESPECT to harassers and their contemptible practices including irrational and abusive recruitment stages run by morons! A lawsuit for harassment during recruitment process is of no avail when the law regarding harassment at workplace is not enforced neither for the employment period in a company.
Our message to dumb(o)sses and their minions: STOP THE OPPRESSION or BE DEPRESSED BY THE PRESS!
It is also noteworthy the written feedback of a hiring manager of TOTAL
company when an internal experienced candidate makes a point regarding
the essence of those tests rejecting the invitation to “be harassed”.
The manager notes that “even senior professionals who had applied from
other companies failed to pass their tests”. What does it mean “fail”?
They have found the IQ of qualified candidates low when the company
probably asked them the impossible e.g. to solve a problem with lacking
data and without making assumptions, providing just a number as a result
to be checked by the HR morons or the candidates did not hit high
scores in their stupid puzzles? What is the IQ they search for? What is
the IQ of the directors without academic degrees who order such
ridiculous and invalid tests? Those who hit high IQ scores and “pass”
the tests but are not hired by the fearful managers are the ones who
have succeeded? After having been qualified for universities courses,
having met the university entry requirements scoring high at entrance
examinations, after having been awarded Masters with Distinction and/or
PhDs degrees from accredited universities and published research papers
candidates will have to go down and attend an(e)ther training run by the
morons HR for being able to fill stupid puzzles in order to get a job?
What a shame!
The old generations managed to get positions in big companies and grow
easily to directors without holding any academic degree and then they
made it difficult to new generations with degrees to be hired. The directors who
order those assessment centres are those who lack academic degrees and
aim to break the moral of those with high credentials and deprive them
of their right to get a job. The real assessment centres are the
universities which award degrees upon numerous exams, as well as the
previous employer-harassers for the experienced candidates. The fresh
graduates have all gone through the academic harassment and are already
overfilled by petty professors who were kicked out of the industry upon
harassment and released their frustrations to students (domino effect),
as well as by moron peers. Some companies even dare to call on the phone
a candidate-fresh graduate (indeed continuously) during the weekend to
invite them to an “assessment centre” scheduled to take place in two
days as “it happened that a vacancy in that centre opened the last
moment”, proving that way the abusive character of those centers.
A law must be made to prohibit harassment centres ordered by a petty and
fearful management as first^ step of the recruitment process. Their aim
is to break the moral and nerves of all candidates and kick them
directly out of the industry. If they do not want to hire a candidate
they should just reject their application and not invite them to
harassment-based interviews or “assessment” centers subjecting them to
endless oppression!

You well exposed that shame, Catherine. Do
they maybe think that the IQ must change every two years of employment
as they put great effort to damage the brain of an employee by means of
harassment/mobbing techniques? But the IQ of HR and those who direct
them remains stable at the bottom since they ask even the experienced
professionals with heavy academic degrees to participate in their stupid
simulation of kindergarten. Indeed, there is also a bunch of
dumb-unqualified people called HR which need to be fed by harassing
those who seek a job. There are centres that ask few thousand euros from
an individual to "prepare" them for filling stupid puzzles in those
centres and even a higher amount from the company for which they can
set up such "kindergarten". The whole system really SUCKS.

the fun reaches a peak when a confirmed professional who has passed the
real harsh academic and industrial harassment is asked by a
company in which she/he applies for a job (indeed within the Group where
the professional works) to take part in those “centres” which are used
for killing them. If an inexperienced fresh graduate passes those
“tests” hitting the highest scores is not enough (HR deems) as they lack
industrial experience or they are not internal candidates and when they
become experienced indeed within the corporate Group the score is
outdated (after two years) as the human IQ according to dumb-HR changes e
v e r y t w o y e a r s!**!!
HR employees, get the fuck off our lives, you and your fearful dumb directors who program and use you as dumb-robots.
